Two Research Axis

The EVA Chair is oriented around two main research axes. These two axes are underpinned by a perspective of medical anthropology and aim, firstly, to better understand the factors affecting vaccine hesitancy and, secondly, to develop and evaluate interventions that can influence vaccine perspectives and practices.

Axis 1 - Understanding the Causes and Impacts of Vaccine Hesitancy

Vaccine hesitancy is a complex phenomenon. It encompasses social, cultural, psychological, and political dimensions. It is essential not only to understand the factors affecting vaccine hesitancy but also to better grasp the effects of vaccine hesitancy within populations.

Axis 2 - Development and Evaluation of Interventions

The development and evaluation of targeted interventions are crucial to combating vaccine hesitancy. These interventions must be based on a deep understanding of the underlying reasons for hesitancy and tailored to the specific needs of the communities involved. Evaluating these interventions allows for measuring their effects and identifying the best practices to adopt, particularly in public health.
